The Supreme Court has decided to hear a claim from publicly listed companies that want to hold their annual general meetings this year via live stream or electronic broadcast.
The claim, which was made by the Jamaica Stock Exchange as a representative claimant for 17 listed companies will be considered on June 24.
Listed companies have suspended their annual general meetings because electronic meetings are not permitted under the Companies Act of Jamaica.
However, the act makes provisions for the court to decide on an interim measure for the companies.
