24 more people granted Jamaican citizenship

Twenty-four more people have been granted Jamaican citizenship.

They were presented with documents formalising their status by the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency, during a swearing-in ceremony at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in St. Andrew on Monday.

Andrew Wynter, Chief Executive Officer of PICA,  who welcomed the 24 new Jamaican citizens, encouraged them to play their part in the development of the country.

Mr. Wynter said the agency will continue to implement strategies to boost its modernisation programmes.

Jamaican citizenship is granted by virtue of marriage, registration, naturalisation, by descent and citizenship in cases of doubt and restoration.
