48-hour curfew imposed in sections of Red Hills Road, St. Andrew

A 48-hour curfew has been imposed in sections of Red Hills Road in St Andrew, following the shooting of two women in the community on Sunday.

The women have been hospitalised in serious condition after being shot by hoodlums who attempted to abduct one of them.

This was disclosed by the commanding officer for the St Andrew North  Police Division, Deputy Superintendent Randy Sweeny.

It's reported that about 5:00 p.m., Sunday, three persons, including the two women, were walking in the vicinity of 108 Red Hills Road hen men in a Toyota Mark X motor car drove up.

The armed men reportedly ordered one of the women to into the car. She refused and the three pedestrians ran off. They were chased and two of them shot by the hoodlums.

 The third victim escaped injury.

DSP Sweeny says the shooting stemmed from an inter-gang conflict in the area.
