Workers at the National Water Commission should begin receiving their salaries at the new compensation rates at the end of August following the signing of an agreement between the management and unions representing the workers.
General Secretary of the Jamaica Association of Local Government Officers, Helene Davis Whyte confirmed that the agreement had been achieved after much deliberation among the parties.
Mrs Davis Whyte said, among the areas ironed out was the conversion of the status of travelling officers.
She said the union now awaits information on the payment of arrears.
