The Jamaica Society for Industrial Security is reportedly preparing to make an announcement will soon regarding on rate increases and benefits for security guards.
Some security guards have been restive over the delay in upgrading their employment status.
It follows the September Supreme Court ruling against Marksman Limited, which determined that security guards are not independent contractors, but employees.
President of the Jamaica Society for Industrial Security, Commander George Overton told Radio Jamaica News that discussions are far advanced with the various companies on the level of increase.
He said details of the agreement will be made public in the coming days.
Vincent Morrison, President of the Union of Clerical Administrative and Supervisory Employees, has expressed disappointment that the court ruling in favour of security guards has not yet been implemented.
