A fifth form student at Campion College in St. Andrew drowned at the school's pool on Thursday.
He has been identified as 16-year-old Jordan Gibson.
Radio Jamaica News was informed that the incident happened during water polo practice sometime after 4:00 p.m.
Efforts were made to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead at hospital.
In a statement, Campion College said it was saddened by Jordan's tragic passing and that counselling will be available to those who need it.
