Radio Jamaica News has been informed that the police constable who was picked up last week for questioning in connection with the recent spate of robberies in Manchester, has been released.
He was released after being questioned by detectives.
The constable was taken into custody on the weekend following Friday's deadly robbery in Porus in which a supermarket operator, Jin Sian Ye, and another man, Alphanso Cohen, were killed in the robbery.
Three other people were wounded in the incident.
The Police High Command has been tightlipped about the arrest of the constable, but he was reportedly taken into custody following intelligence gathered by investigators.
It's believed the robberies were carried out by members of an organised criminal network.
Four suspects, including two 19 year olds, were arrested following the deadly attack on the supermarket.
Three illegal firearms, including an AK47 rifle, were seized in a vehicle which transported the armed robbers.
