Jamaica men's basketball team will take on the United States in the quarter-final round of the 2024 FIBA Americup 3-on-3 basketball tournament after advancing to the last eight on Friday night in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Jamaicans booked their spot after recording a 21-14 win over Argentina, thanks to Jabulani Newby who scored 9 points, while pulling down 7 rebounds.
It was a must win game for the Jamaicans who had lost 14-19 to Canada in their previous Pool 'B' game. The quarter-final game against number one seed, the USA is set for Sunday at 2:20 pm Jamaica time.
Meanwhile, Jamaica's women also advanced to the last eight on Friday after finishing second in Pool 'B'. The Jamaicans who didn’t have to play in qualifying, had a 14-9 win over Mexico before losing 15-20 to Canada. They will now take on Puerto Rico in the last eight.
