The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has handed down a ruling in the case involving former Agriculture Minister Floyd Green.
DPP Paula Llewellyn declined to disclose the ruling but told Radio Jamaica News that she handed down the "detailed 10-page legal opinion" on Friday.
A copy of the ruling has been submitted to Superintendent Anthony McLaughlin, head of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch (C-TOC), Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of crime, Fitz Bailey and Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson.
C-TOC had written to the DPP late last year for a legal opinion on whether Mr. Green violated the Disaster Risk Management Act by attending a party on a no movement day in September last year.
Mr. Green resigned his post following public criticism.
He was recently reappointed to the Cabinet by Prime Minister Andrew Holness and is now a minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister.
