Flight attendant held with cocaine at Sangster International Airport

A flight attendant was arrested on Tuesday for attempting to smuggle a quantity of cocaine through Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James.
 
The 47-year-old who holds dual US/Jamaican nationalities was arrested on reasonable suspicion for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
 
Her identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
 
The Narcotics police say about 12:30 p.m., the flight attendant arrived at the airport and was attempting to board a departing flight to New York.
 
During security procedures the cocaine which weighs approximately 1.5 kilogrammes was found concealed in her luggage.  
 
The drug has a street value of around US$75,000.
