Members of the security forces established a high presence on Sunday at the funeral service for the reputed leader of the One Order Gang, Othneil "Thickman" Lobban.

Lobban was fatally shot during a police operation along the Mandela Highway in January.

His supporters turned out for the service, but the police, led by Assistant Commissioner Christopher Phillips, commanding officer for Area 5,  kept control of the proceedings.

The police have been on high alert since the killing of Lobban following threat of retaliation.

Several of his associates have since been killed, reportedly  in confrontation with the security forces.

ACP Phillips said the security forces are prepared to deal with any threat from members of the One Order criminal gang.
