The Jamaica Gasoline Retailers Association (JGRA) says its members have had to reduce their profit margins to prevent a fall-off in sales due to rising fuel prices.

JGRA President Diane Parram says the members will not be able to continue doing so much longer.

Ms Parram has called for the government to intervene in the market to cushion the impact of the rising fuel prices on consumers.

Gas prices have been steadily rising for several months, with the ex-refinery price for a litre of 90-octane gasoline now at $161.
