Gov't allocates $930m for cyber security in 2020/2021 fiscal year

The government has allocated $930 million for Cyber Security Initiatives during the 2020/2021 fiscal year.

This includes the Jamaica Eye programme.

The Estimates of Expenditure, tabled this week, shows the government received surveillance cameras as well as hardware and software devices in December.

It is expected that the acquisition of devices and training will be completed by next year.

Jamaica Eye is part of an islandwide network of camera surveillance systems designed to increase the safety of citizens.
