The government is probing the legal status of foreign nationals employed to Whole Hearted Car Service Company (WH Car Service) located at Ferry, off Mandela Highway in St. Andrew.

A 10-member team is employed at the facility.

Labour Minister Pearnel Charles Jr. says the probe is to determine if all the legal and regulatory requirements, including valid work permits and employment documentation, have been satisfied.

"As the matter is active, we are unable to speak specifically to the details at this time. However, the ministry is working in full coordination with the relevant agencies to verify the facts and ensure that all applicable laws are upheld. The rights of both foreign workers and Jamaican citizens remain a priority and any breaches, if found, will be addressed in accordance with the law."

Minister Charles added that the government remains "committed to transparency, due process and the protection of our labour market integrity."

He promised that updates will be provided to the public as soon as the investigation has concluded and the findings are formally reviewed.
