Harbour View fish kill sparks concern

It is unclear when the authorities will begin removal of dead fish from  Harbour View, East Kingston despite concerns that it may affect the livelihood of fishers who ply their trade in the vicinity of the Dry Dock.
 
Harbour View residents and fishers, told Radio Jamaica News that over the last three days scores of dead fish have washed ashore to the banks of Harbour Head, near the Harbour View roundabout.
 
It's understood that the fish kill has stretched for several miles along the airport road.
 
One fisherman, Aristotle Fray, stressing that the location is a popular spot for fish vendors and recreational fishing, is calling for the authorities to remove the dead fish as quicly as possible.
 
The National Environment and Planning Agency says it is investigating the incident.
