Councillor for the Linstead Division in the St. Catherine Parish Council Herbert Garriques wants the Council to urgently address the deplorable conditions at the historic Linstead Market to prevent its closure.
A report by the St. Catherine Health Department stated that repeated inspection of the facility revealed that the conditions are worsening to the extent that it could be ordered close.
Mr. Garriques says urgent remedial work needs to be carried out at the market.
