House of Representatives resumes sittings at Gordon House

The House of Representatives resumed meeting at Gordon House on Tuesday for first the time since the dissolution of Parliament in August ahead of the September 3 general election.

This followed reconfiguration of the Chamber to account for the government's majority and allow for physical distancing in keeping with COVID-19 guidelines.

Measures undertaken include the addition of two rows of seats on the government side and the installation of shields on the desks of Members of Parliament.

Portable sanitisation units have also been placed at all entrances to the Chamber.
