Speaking with JIS News, Brigade Commissioner Stewart Beckford said the staff complement of uniformed and non-uniformed personnel is now at 2,164.
There are 1,868 uniformed firefighters.
Mr. Beckford said the Brigade is currently undertaking a restructuring exercise which will result in additional numbers in terms of the overall staff complement.
He disclosed that an additional 151 new positions are slated to come on stream over the next two financial years.
The commissioner noted that applicants with specialised skill have a greater advantage. These include mechanics and drivers, artisans, electricians and plumbers.
