Jamaica receives US$5.2 million COVID assistance grant

The Government of Jamaica has received a grant of US$5.2 million for urgent COVID-19 assistance.
 
The funds were donated by the US Government through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
 
In a media release today, the US embassy said the funds will support the Government in accelerating access to COVID-19 vaccines.
 
The money will also go towards reducing morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19 via critical public health and clinical interventions.
 
The US government has donated more than US$10 million to the COVID-19 response programme since the pandemic.
