JDF soldier shot at checkpoint

The Jamaica Defence Force says it is investigating an incident in which a soldier was shot and injured at a checkpoint in the St. Andrew South Division, on Thursday morning.
 
The soldier was shot in the region of his ankle while on duty.
 
It is believed he was shot after his service weapon discharged in a tent housing JDF personnel along Mahoe drive in St. Andrew.
 
He was rushed to hospital by the police, where he was treated and confirmed to be in stable condition.
