JetBlue Airways says it's conducting an investigation into flight attendant Kalina Collier who caused a firestorm after alleging she was kidnapped in Jamaica.
JetBlue spokesman, Derek Dombrowski, said on Monday the airline was aware of reports Miss Collier, who was vacationing in Jamaica, was required to quarantine due to coronavirus health regulations and has safely returned to the United States after her quarantine expired.
Mr. Dombrowski said In a statement that JetBlue holds each crewmember to the highest standards when it comes to personal integrity.
Ms. Collier's initial claims about her situation on her social media account resulted in her followers calling for a boycott of Jamaica.
The police said the Jetblue employee tested positive for COVID-19 and was placed in isolation, however, in keeping with Jamaica's prevention protocols.
Hours after departing Jamaica on Sunday, Ms. Collier said she was never missing or kidnapped.
She maintained her complaints about the hotel at which she was quarantined and suggested she would be taking legal action.
