KFTL to extend operations this week to mitigate Wednesday's strike fallout

Kingston Freeport Terminal is to extend its operations this week to mitigate the effects of the disruption caused by Wednesday morning's strike by haulage contractors.

The trailer drivers withdrew their service to protest the slow pace of processing at the facility.

The drivers returned to work in the afternoon following a meeting with a Port Authority of Jamaica, independent truckers, Port Trailer Haulage Association, Jamaica Customs Agency and KFTL to discuss their concerns.

KFTL says the adjusted hours started on Wednesday.
