A man is dead while another is in serious condition at hospital following a two-truck collision along the Richmond main road near the Richmond Estate traffic light in St. Ann on Thursday morning.
The crash involved a 2002 International motor truck and a 2018 Izuzu Elf motor truck.
Police say about 11:30, both vehicles are travelling in a westerly direction towards Runaway Bay when, on reaching the stoplight, the International truck stopped on red but the driver of the Izuzu truck failed to stop and rear-ended the first truck.
The collision resulted in extensive damage to the cab of the Izuzu truck and injuries to the driver and his passenger.
The passenger was trapped in the wreckage and had to be removed by members of the St. Ann Fire Department.
He was transported to the nearby St. Ann's Bay Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver and sole occupant of the International truck escaped serious injury.
