Howard Litchmore

Medical records personnel at the Kingston Public Hospital have resumed duties.

The nearly 70 employees refused to perform duties on Tuesday citing work related concerns.

Negotiating Officer at the Union of Technical, Administrative and Supervisory Personnel, Howard Litchmore told Radio Jamaica News the hospital's Chief Executive Officer Burknell Stewart has promised to address the issues the workers have raised.

“He promised that he would provide the thing that they were arguing for and he gave a timeline of about two months….All the things that they were arguing about would be given to them and he was in the process of sourcing them,” Mr. Litchmore said.

Mr. Litchmore declined to give details on what triggered the work stoppage.

Patients had complained to the Radio Jamaica News team of waiting in long lines for hours due to the protest.
