More trouble for Vybz Kartel

Vybz Kartel, the incarcerated dancehall performer, is reportedly in more trouble with the law.

The Constabulary Communication Network CCN on Wednesday reported back-to-back seizures of several contraband items  from the cell occupied by Karte, whose given name is Adidja Palmer.

The reported contraband seizure came as  investigators continue their  probe into the shooting death  of music producer Patrick Samuels. Samuels, alias Roach, was gunned down early Sunday morning on Mannings Hill Road in the Jamaican capital, Kingston.

The CCN reports that, on Sunday,  as part of their investigations, detectives visited Kartel's cell. Two cellular phones and three thumb drives were reportedly seized  from the cell occupied by Kartel.

The cell of Garfield Vassell, otherwise called ‘Zebra’, was also searched.

A sim card, and a  piece of paper containing instructions purportedly written by a popular entertainer, were reportedly seized.

Investigators subsequently returned to the prison and during further searches, a DVD player and an apple iPod were reportedly taken from the cell of Palmer.

A DVD player was reportedly seized from the cell of Shawn Campbell, alias  ‘Shawn Storm’.

The CCN said the seized items were to be analyzed for evidential purposes as the police search for clues in a bid to find the perpetrators behind Samuels' murder.

The Police say, while not targeting any individual or group, investigators continue to encounter issues with people in custody ordering murders, extortion and witness intimidation.
