Most primary and secondary schools resume full face-to-classes today

Following a near two year disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, primary and secondary schools have reopened their doors for full face-to-face classes.

The only schools granted an exception are those still on the shift system.

The three to six feet physical distancing condition has been relaxed, which means that classroom seating can be arranged to reflect the usual spacing of  desks and chairs prior to COVID-19 restrictions.

School administrators are required to continue utilising isolation centres where there are signs of  illness and continue working closely with health professionals, including parish health inspectors.

However, some students at Yallahs High School will not be able to begin face-to-face classes today because all the facilities are not ready.

Principal, Mark Malabver, told Radio Jamaica News last evening that he has no choice but to do a staggered re-opening.
