Member of Parliament for St. Catherine North Central Natalie Neita has been arrested and charged with common assault.
The attorney representing the MP shed light on the incident in a post on Twitter.
According to the attorney, Sean Kinghorn, Ms Neita defended herself after being attacked.
The matter reportedly took place last week Monday.
According to the tweet, Ms Neita was charged last Wednesday in relation to a matter concerning Kevin Buchanan who was formerly employed to the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica.
It added that Ms Neita serves in the capacity of a Consultant in Human Resource Management for the company.
The tweet further claimed that Ms Neita was attacked at the company by Mr. Buchanan concerning an employment issue.
The statement added that she refutes the allegation.
She is to appear before the court on February 01.
RJR News tried to contact Ms Neita, her attorney and officials at the PNP, however the phones rang without answer.
