No serious injury in crash involving National Security Minister and his close protection officers

Minister of National Security Dr. Horace Chang is said to be in good spirits after being involved in a motor vehicle collision Wednesday morning at the intersection of Grants Pen Road and Shortwood Road in St Andrew.

A statement from the Ministry of National Security said Dr Chang and two Close Protection Officers (CPOs) were en route to Norman Manley International Airport when the crash occurred.

It said the minister and his CPOs were examined at University Hospital of the West Indies.

Dr Chang was not injured, while the police officers sustained minor injuries and were treated.

They have been released from hospital.

It's reported that, after colliding with a Mitsubishi Lancer, Dr Chang's vehicle overturned when it hit an embankment.

The driver of the Lancer was also treated at hospital.
