The Peace Management Initiative (PMI) is raising questions about the boundary of the Zone of Special Operations in Denham Town, West Kingston.
The security forces announced on Tuesday that the Zone was imposed in Denham Town due to ongoing gang violence and criminal activity in the community. More than 50 people have been killed in a bloody dispute between Denham Town and neighbouring Tivoli Gardens over the last four years.
Speaking Wednesday on RJR's Beyond the Headlines, Damion Hutchinson, Executive Director of the PMI, whose team has been working in the community, suggested that the Zone should have been extended to Tivoli Gardens. He argued that the conflict is between the two areas and both are in need of social intervention.
