Homicide detectives are probing the fatal shooting of a woman in Lilliput, St. James, on Thursday evening.
Maria Valdez Bens, 37, a bartender from the Dominican Republic and a resident of Lilliput, was killed at the establishment where she was employed.
Investigators reported that about 6 o'clock, explosions were heard coming from the bar.
Residents also heard screams.
Mrs. Bens's body was found on the ground at the establishment with a bullet wound to the head.
Her hand bag was found near the scene by residents.
