Police probing suspected human trafficking ring in Manchester

By Kimone Witter

The police are investigating what is suspected to be a major human trafficking ring in Mandeville, Manchester.

This follows an operation Thursday morning in which 15 foreign nationals, including a child, were detained in Balvenie Heights.

The pre-dawn operation was carried out by the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch (C-TOC) and officers attached to the Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA).

The detainees are said to be of Indian descent.

Hours later, in a second operation at Rosedale, Manchester, eight people were taken into custody, including two men wanted for murder in Clarendon.
