Superintendent Bobette Morgan-Simpson, head of the St. Mary Police, said a search is still ongoing for the suspect behind the bomb threat which led to the temporary closure of the St. Mary High School on Monday.

Speaking Thursday at the monthly meeting of the St. Mary Municipal Corporation, Superintendent Morgan-Simpson said although the bomb threat caused some amount of inconvenience, it could not have been ignored by the authorities.

She said investigators are seeking to determine if the prank call was made by a student.

"We have not been able to reach anybody just yet. We really don't know who is responsible. There are some theories in terms of a student who may not have wanted the exam to take place. But the rest of the school, apart from those who were doing CXC, the rest of the school were sent home," she told the meeting.

Superintendent Morgan-Simpson said the police are grateful for the school and community's cooperation when authorities were forced to spring into action to secure the area.
