Confirmation has come that pork prices will be going up, arising from the increase in the cost of animal feed.
The Jamaica Pig Farmers Association has indicated that an announcement will be made next week.
News came on Friday that meat prices would likely increase after animal feed supplier Nutramix announced that it will cost more to purchase its products.
President of the Jamaica Pig Farmers Association, Hanif Brown told Radio Jamaica News that in recent months the members have been absorbing increases in production costs but are no longer able to do so.
The farmers will meet later this week to decide the new pork prices.
