Audley Shaw, Jamaica's former finance minister is reportedly making efforts to quickly pay over nearly J$2 million to Peter Bunting, Member of Parliament for Central Manchester before his attorneys took further steps to enforce an agreement against Shaw, the current Opposition Spokesman on Finance.
Mr. Bunting had sued Mr. Shaw for defamation following comments made during the political campaign season in 2011.
The agreement between Mr. Shaw and Mr. Bunting was arrived at during mediation.
Raymond Clough, the attorney-at-law representing Mr. Shaw, told RJR News that the payment was being prepared.
However, he could not say when it would be made.
Mr. Clough, however, expressed hope that this would be the end of the matter.
