Some of the 15 children who were placed in state care after the police raided the compound of Pathways International Restoration Ministries in Montego Bay, St. James two weeks ago have been released into the care of relatives.
Radio Jamaica News was told that the children, some as young as one year old, were placed in the care of relatives, following an assessment by the authorities.
The Ministry of Education & Youth is expecting to receive a report today from the Child Protection and Family Services Agency on the status of all the children.
It was reported that the 15 children would undergo psychosocial assessment after being traumatised by the October 17 incident at Pathways International.
The children were remanded in state care for two weeks during a special sitting of the St. James Children's Court on October 18.
The police stormed Pathways International Restoration Ministries following reports that congregants were being killed as part of a religious ritual.
39 year old Tameka Gardner and 38 year old Michael Brown were found dead at the church in Albion Meadows.
Their throats had been slashed.
