A teenager is believed to have drowned in a section of Swift River along Caenwood Road near Hope Bay in Portland.
The police have not released his identity but residents say the boy is reportedly from the United Kingdom.
Preliminary reports are that the teen encountered difficulties while in the water and attempts were made to rescue him.
He was reportedly pulled from the water and efforts to administer CPR failed.
The police were called and the scene processed before the body was removed.
