Three men were shot dead by the police in Hague Settlement, Trelawny on Saturday morning.
A soldier was shot in the hand during the operation as well.
It's reported that, about 2 o'clock, the security team entered an illegal party in the community.
It's not clear what led to the shooting but three men were fatally shot and the soldier was wounded.
One of the deceased has been identified as Oshane Surgeon.
His mother, Tamara Mitchell, told Radio Jamaica News she received a call while at work that he had been killed.
Mr Surgeon's grandmother added that the family did not know of him being involved in criminal activities.
