Homicide detectives in the parish of St. Ann, on Jamaica's north coast, have identified a woman who was murdered in the parish as 53-year-old Canadian visitor Shirley Lewis McFarlane.
Mrs. McFarlane, a frequent visitor to the island, was one of two females discovered dead in St. Ann in the past 24 hours.
According to the police, they were called to a house in Discovery Bay, on Monday evening, where the Canadian was staying. Her body was found with head injuries.
Superintendent Yvette Martin Daley, head of the St. Ann police division, is appealing to anyone with information to call 972-2331 or 973-2233.

And about 8 o' clock Tuesday morning the body of a girl was found at the Addison Park Sports Complex, in Brown's Town.
She has been identified as Tashique Nugent, a grade 10 student of the Browns Town High School and a resident of Sturge Town. It appears that she was sexually assaulted and strangled.
