Barbados: Plan to introduce salt tax in advanced stages

The Ministry of Health in Barbados says work to introduce a tax on salt is at an advanced stage.

Senior medical officer with responsibility for non-communicable diseases, Dr Arthur Phillips, gave an update on World Hypertension Day, which was celebrated on Wednesday.

Dr Phillips says the evidence-gathering phase of the process is almost complete. A report is due in October.
