Barbados will have advanced use of Hurricane Hunter plane

Barbados has welcomed the decision to position the US-based Hurricane Hunter aircraft at least five days before the approach of a tropical system.

The event has been organised by the Barbados-based Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Prime Minister Mia Mottley said this was critical to the country's ability to improve on its preparations and warnings for the storms that are now likely to become more intense.
