Precision Cybertechnologies and Digital Solutions and the University of the West Indies, Mona recently unveiled the Precision Cybersecurity Lab Initiative.
The US$75,000 initiative is a strategic investment in human capital, digital innovation and regional security.
Under this initiative, a cyber lab will be established in the Department of Computing in the Faculty of Science and Technology at UWI Mona.
The department will then become a national hub for talent development, advanced research and collaborative problem solving in the fight against cyber crime.
According to FortiGuard, Latin America and the Caribbean was the target of a $200 billion attempted cyber attack last year.
