Suriname law enforcement authorities are continuing their investigation into the death of a protocol officer from India, whose body was found in a pool at a hotel on Wednesday.
The authorities said 36-year-old Arun K was a member of the advanced Indian delegation that had visited Suriname in preparation for the June 4–6 visit of Indian President Droupadi Murmu.
According to the authorities, a preliminary investigation found that he was in the swimming pool with three colleagues and was allegedly giving swimming lessons to them.
The authorities said the three colleagues left the pool to have lunch before realizing that Arun K. was not present.
