Atomica records first win for 2023 with Labour Day Trophy success

Commentary by Track Announcer Brian Rickman

Horse of the Year Atomica recorded her first victory of the year, going from gate to wire to land the feature Labour Day Trophy for Overnight Allowance runners over 7 furlongs in impressive fashion on Tuesday at Caymanas Park.

The 4 year old classy chestnut filly was ridden to victory by her customary rider, champion jockey Dane Dawkins for trainer Gary Subratie.

Atomica covered the distance in 1 minute, 24.4 seconds, winning by 10-and-a-half lengths. Leading jockey Reyan Lewis had a double on the 9 race card to move his tally to 41 wins, five clear of nearest rival Tevin Foster who went winless.
