Blake, Seville pull out of Racers Grand Prix

Jamaica's two fastest men over the 100 metres this year, Ackeem Blake along with world championship finalist Oblique Seville have withdrawn from Saturday's fifth staging of the Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium.

Radio Jamaica Sports understands that Blake, who sped to a personal best of 9.89 seconds at the Los Angeles Grand Prix last weekend, has opted out due to fatigue.

Prior to competing in LA on Saturday, Blake took part in the Bermuda Grand Prix and also complained about a rough flight back to Jamaica from Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Seville, who has recorded 9.95 seconds this season – the tenth best time of the year so far – has pulled out due to a hamstring injury.

The 22-year-old has competed in five 100m races this season, with his last run coming on May 18 at the JAAA All Comers Meet.

American Christian Coleman is now the main headline act for the event on Saturday that also includes former national champion Tyquendo Tracey and Nigel Ellis.

Additionally, Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad is also not listed for the women's 400m hurdles.
