Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the West Indies Players Association (WIPS), have come out strong against allegations of sexual harassment within the West Indies Women's team during the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup.

Starcom Network on Friday published a story that a former Windies women's cricketer is alleging that she endured prolonged sexual harassment in the regional team. The article also included former team manager Evril 'Betty' Lewis speaking on the matter.

Lewis said it was a major concern for her while she was manager of the team. However, she could not speak to the current situation.

On Friday, CWI and WIPA sent out a joint release, stating that both organizations take such matters seriously and remain fully committed to ensuring a safe, professional and supportive environment for all players and staff.

WIPA and CWI also announced that they will convene to review all aspects of athlete safeguarding within West Indies cricket.
