Jamaicans struggle at World Aquatics Short Course Swimming Championships

Leanna Wainwright will be aiming to make progress from the preliminary round in the 50 metre backstroke, when she competes in heat two on Thursday morning at 3:04 at the World Aquatics Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Over the first two days of competition, the Jamaicans swimmers have found the going tough. In Wednesday's action, Sidrell Williams was unable to qualify from the heats of the men's 100m freestyle, clocking a time of 53.15 seconds to place 87th overall in the event.

The Jamaican team was third in heat 1 of the 4x50m medley relay with a time of 1 minute, 50.17 seconds but ended 33rd overall.
