Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Renardo Brown

The search is on for a new head of coaching education at the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), as Andrew Peart is due to vacate the position to take up the role of Director of Football with the local governing body.

Peart who is currently assisting with the Reggae Boyz coaching staff, will replace veteran Wendell Downswell, who will now do a lot of coaching with the coaching education programme and will also be head coach of the Under-17s.

General Secretary of the JFF Gregory Daley confirmed the appointment of peart and also outlined that it’s unlikely he will continue being on the sideline as a coach. peart is currently Technical Director at Montego Bay United and head coach at Glenmuir High.

While Peart will relinquish his duties as head of the coaching school, he will take on numerous new responsibilities, including setting policies for the federation and ensuring proper documentation. Peart will also take over the Talent Development Scheme (TDS) and that includes grassroots.
