Inform jockey Javaniel Patterson could be out of the saddle for an indefinite period after suffering a spill on the exercise track at Caymanas Park on Wednesday morning.
It’s understood that Patterson’s mount was attempting to bolt when the jockey in taking evasive action, fell awkwardly upon dismounting.
Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) chairman Clovis Metcalfe told Radio Jamaica Sports that Patterson was seen by the medical personnel on duty at the track and later transported to the Spanish Town Hospital where he underwent x-rays and was awaiting those results up to Wednesday evening. Patterson is also said to be complaining of back pain.
Patterson is currently lying 8th in the jockeys championship with 15 wins, 30 behind joint leaders Anthony Thomas and Dane Dawkins.
