Nevers expresses concern over choice of Sunshine Girls assistant coach

Former Sunshine Girls assistant coach Winston Nevers says he was surprised in the appointment of Shawn Murdock to the coaching staff of the country's team to the Netball World Cup in South Africa.

Murdock is the coach of the men's netball team, but has never coached any of the nation's women's teams and doesn't coach any women's club teams currently.

However, Netball Jamaica first vice president Simone Forbes, who along with Nevers was speaking on Hitz 92 FM's Sports Grill on Tuesday, was quick to point out that it was a thorough process which went into Murdock's selection.

Murdock and Australian Rob Wright will assist Connie Francis at the tournament which runs from July 28 to August 6 in Cape Town, South Africa.
