Windies "A" close in on victory against Bangladesh "A"

Guyanese Tagenarine Chanderpaul scored back to back half centuries as the West Indies “A” close in on victory in their third and final unofficial 4-day test against Bangladesh “A”  in Sylhet.

After closing day two at 157-7, 288 runs behind the West Indies “A” first innings score of 445, Bangladesh “A” were dismissed for 205.

Nasum Ahmed carried on from his overnight score of 7 to a top score of 38. Saif Hasan 32, Zakir Hasan 29 and Nurul Hasan 28, were the other top scorers from day 2.

Veerasammy Permaul claimed the last three wickets of the Bangladesh “A’ innings to end with 3-38, while Anderson Phillip had 2-36 and Kevin Sinclair 2-75.

In their second innings, West Indies “A’ posted 220-5 declared as Chanderpaul was left not out on 83 the same score as his first innings.

Tevin Imlach was also left not out on 28, while captain Joshua da Silva made 47 and Alick Athanaze 27.

Jamaican Kirk McKenzie made 20. Saif Hasan ended with 3-68, while Nasum Ahmed had 2-50 for the hosts.

Set an unlikely target of 461 runs for victory, Bangladesh “A”  reached 47-0 at stumps. 
The West Indies “A” lead the series 1-0.
